Vedas contain the highest knowledge. “Rig” of Rig Veda means Hymn of praise that comes out of the human being in greatest ecstasy of wonder. The Sanskrit language was highly developed by the time the Vedas were composed. The Vedas were composed in poetic form, which shows a high level of expression. They are a composition of sounds and words.

The Gayatri Mantra is a great example of this high level poetry. Every word of a Vedic mantra has a meaning. This meaning must be understood. The Vedic Rishis discovered that this physical universe is incredibly vast. There are dimensions that are even larger than the “physical” dimension. This is the intermediate universe. Behind this vast intermediate universe there is an even higher universe.  But you must examine and test these universes for yourself. There are methods by which capacities can be developed to experience these universe. The Vedic rishis had made a great discovery of this method called “meditation.” According to this discovery, our intellect is capable of developing thoughts. But we do not fully know the power of thinking. Thinking has many kinds of powers, and these powers can be developed at higher and higher levels.

Thoughts have different pitches like the sounds have and these different pitches have different effects. The effects are basically in terms of the removal of confusions and the creation of clear ideas and flowing images. Meditation is a process of repeating certain ideas in a slow, regulated and steady motion with complete concentration, so that ideas which are not relevant to the thought under consideration, are not allowed to enter. Then see how this thought flows like a river towards its goal. When this is done, every meditation discovers its target. Every meditation has a target—an object to be discovered. It is aiming for a clarity about something—an as-isness of some doubt, perplexity or confusion. The Vedic rishis made the discovery that we have within us a capacity called the “intellect”, and that capacity can be utilized by concentration, and it can go to the target, which is supreme light.

Literal word-by-word meaning of Gayatri Mantra:

  • Om: The primordial cosmic sound.
  • Bhur: The physical world, the earthly realm.
  • Bhuvah: The mental or astral world, the realm of the life force.
  • Svah: The celestial or spiritual world, the realm of the soul.
  • Tat: That, referring to the Supreme Being.
  • Savitur: The sun, the source of all life.
  • Varenyam: Worthy of adoration, most excellent.
  • Bhargo: The effulgence, or divine light.
  • Devasya: Divine, of the supreme Lord.
  • Dhimahi: We meditate upon. Concentrate.
  • Dhiyo: The intellect.
  • Yo: May this (light).
  • Nah: Our.
  • Prachodayat: Enlighten, inspire.

Running Hubbard’s Processes with Subject Clearing

Please see: Grass Roots Scientology

Hubbard’s research started with Dianetics, continued with Scientology Grades, and ended with OT Levels. The processes from Hubbard’s voluminous work are provided here so they can be run by a person himself using the Subject clearing approach.

The Subject Clearing approach requires neither an auditor nor an E-meter. It simply uses the discipline of Subject Clearing. Its purpose is to facilitates Hubbard’s processes to be run at a grass roots self-help level. Please see

The Book of Subject Clearing

.

Dianetics

The first level of Hubbard’s research is DIANETICS: The Modern Science of Mental Health. It basically focuses on running INCIDENTS from a person’s life to help him overcome his difficulties. A person can run Dianetics on himself using the Subject Clearing approach. Please see

Subject Clearing Life: Incidents

Scientology Grades

The second level of Hubbard’s research are Scientology Grades. This level focuses on fixations a person has due his IDENTIFICATIONS with his body and mind. Each grade is made up of processes that address different levels of fixations. The person may do a grade level several times until he is satisfied with it. He may then move to the next grade level. These grades are done in the following order.

  1. ARC Straight wire Processes
  2. Grade 0 Processes
  3. Grade 1 Processes
  4. Grade 2 Processes
  5. Grade 3 Processes
  6. Grade 4 Processes

Clear Certainty

  1. NED (New Era Dianetics)
  2. Expanded Dianetics
  3. Grade 5 Exercises (Power Processes)
  4. Grade 6 Exercises

.

OT Levels

The third level of Hubbard’s research are the OT Levels. This level focuses on MISCONCEPTIONS that are embedded at a deep level that the person is not aware of.

Special Rundowns

The three L Rundowns (L10, L11 and L12) are the ultimate processes in Scientology that drill into the mind as fast as possible and resolve some of its aberrations as quickly as possible. But they are very expensive and may not produce the desirable results.

Straight Memory

Reference: Course on Subject Clearing

There are three modes of thinking: (a) Straight Memory, (b) Free Association, and (c) Figure Figure.

The “straight memory” occurs when a person is engaged in deep contemplation or meditation. The mind is simply concentrated on a line of thought. All distracting thoughts are pushed aside.

The “free-association” occurs when a person is simply being there and confronting. The mind then unwinds itself in the background through free-association.

The “figure figure” is the most common mode of thinking where a person is going around in circles and not reaching any conclusion. It is the default mode in people who are anxious.

Hubbard defines Straight Memory as follows,

Straight memory is also called straight wire. It is so called because the auditor is directing the memory of the preclear and in doing so is stringing wire, much on the order of a telephone line, between “I” and the standard memory bank, plowing through all occlusions and circuits.

Here the auditor is helping a person focus his thoughts around an auditing question. This is what a person does when he is in a Scientology session running a process. Once a person understands it, he can do it by himself without the help of the auditor.

Therefore, when a person is trained in Subject Clearing, he may run all Scientology processes by himself. No E-meter is needed since he normally becomes aware of the  presence of unassimilated impressions through his gut feeling.

Interestingly, most memory is accessed in the background, out of one’s attention. The accuracy of a person’s memory is indicated by his rationality in thinking and behavior. So, if a person is quite rational, we can safely assume that his memory is pretty good.

The practice of Data Series improves one’s rationality, because in practicing Data Series a person often encounters his own fixed ideas, and gets rid of them. As a result his mental matrix improves in its assimilation.

The better is the assimilation of mental matrix, the better is memory and mental health.

The Nature of the Universe

Reference: The Universe and Physical Elements

The one thing you can say with certainty about the universe is that it is cyclic. The moon goes around the earth. The earth goes around the sun. The sun is on cyclic course within the galaxy; and so on. The universe, essentially, consists of cycles within cycles ad infinitum.

According to the ancient Vedas, the universe has neither a beginning, nor an end. According to Physics, the total energy is conserved. Such observations are confirmations of the ultimate cyclic nature of the universe.

The verse 7:6 of The Bhagavad Gita states,

“Know that all beings have evolved from this twofold Prakrti (the insentient and the sentient nature) and I am the origin (source) of the entire creation and again it dissolves in Me.”

The universe, therefore, manifests and unmanifests itself in a cyclical fashion.

This is a universe of change. It is changing continuously without stopping. Its behavior is analogous to the motion of a pendulum that keeps on swinging under the influence of gravity.

Using the analogy of the pendulum, the extreme states of the universe may be called static and kinetic. The state of static corresponds to some maximum potential, like the one which exists at either end of the swing of the pendulum. The state of kinetic corresponds to some maximum dynamic, like the one which exists at the middle of the swing of the pendulum in either direction.

As the state of static is reached at the end of a swing, it is disturbed immediately with the start of the next swing. So the state of static may exist only momentarily for the Universe. At that point the Universe shall consist of the maximum potential that is about to express itself in infinity of ways. Science looks at it as the point just before Big Bang.

The Big Bang model in physics seems to explain the manifesting of the kinetic state of the universe from some potential state we know nothing about. The universe manifests as pure energy that, very soon, starts to condense into the form of galaxies, stars and planets

In the state of static there is no matter, energy, space, time, or even awareness. There is only a potential for all these things. We do not know what causes this potential. It may be some Cosmic influence, similar to gravity that keeps a pendulum swinging.

But neither science nor religion has any clue about the Cosmic influence, which keeps this universe eternally changing in a cyclic fashion.

The Scientology Factor # 1 states,

“Before the beginning was a Cause and the entire purpose of the Cause was the creation of effect.”

The cause of the universe is its pervious cycle. There is no primary Cause external to the universe.

The Scientology Factor # 2 states,

In the beginning and forever is the decision and the decision is TO BE.”

The “forever” is the duration of the cycle of the universe. There will be other cycles with their relative “forevers.”

In short, the universe is cyclic. It has neither a beginning nor an end. It also has no external cause.

The Vedas and the Vedic People

Complete Vedas With English Meanings

Reference: Subject: The Vedas

The above narration is very interesting. People who wrote the Vedas many thousands of years ago in ancient India were no different from us. But their life was very different. This was because their environment was all natural.

Their struggle was not so much against other humans as it was against their natural environment. Their life was very simple and peaceful. There was no concept of money, just the concept of simple exchange. There were only the basic necessities that they required from nature. They had plenty of time to think about the obstacles they faced and the curiosities they had. Their whole struggle was to know and understand the natural elements around them.

Some of these people had deep longing to know. These were the earliest scientists. The data they had was pure observation of their natural environment. No earlier knowledge was passed on to them.

They could use logic, but the data they had was very limited. So, they were very aware of the limitation of the intellect. They depended heavily on intuition and realizations.

When they got an intuitive solution, and it worked out perfectly, it surprised them. The source of such intuitions was unknown.

There was no religion. The names they used for this unknown source of intuitive knowledge became their simple gods! They prayed to them. They showered them with all their praises. And they tried to invoke them in many different ways. Accessing these “gods” became the sole occupation for many of them.

And the religions that followed in India has simply been an account of the continuing search for this unknown source of intuitive knowledge.

There is no other mystery.
