Comments on Scientology Axioms 1, 2 and 3

Here are some comments on first three axioms of Scientology:

SCIENTOLOGY AXIOM 1: LIFE IS BASICALLY A STATIC.
Definition: a Life Static has no mass, no motion, no wavelength, no location in space or in time. It has the ability to postulate and to perceive.

Static expresses itself as individuality, as explained by Hubbard. [See Scientology Axiom #1.] However, individuality is an aspect of existence same as matter, energy, space and time. It is not a source of existence as implied in Scientology Axiom 3 below.

SCIENTOLOGY AXIOM 2: THE STATIC IS CAPABLE OF CONSIDERATIONS, POSTULATES, AND OPINIONS.

The capabilities of considering, postulating and having opinions may be assigned to individuality, which is part of existence. Thus, these capabilities are manifested along with matter, energy, space and time, as aspects of existence.

SCIENTOLOGY AXIOM 3: SPACE, ENERGY, OBJECTS, FORM AND TIME ARE THE RESULT OF CONSIDERATIONS MADE AND/OR AGREED UPON OR NOT BY THE STATIC, AND ARE PERCEIVED SOLELY BECAUSE THE STATIC CONSIDERS THAT IT CAN PERCEIVE THEM.

Here Static is being expressed as an individuality. It is being considered to be the cause of existence. But cause and effect are also aspects of existence. [See Scientology Factor #1.]

Space, energy, objects, form, time, individuality and its capabilities are simply the aspects of existence.

KHTK Axioms: A Work in Progress

The following group of KHTK Axioms is an attempt to summarize the fundamentals that are consistent with Buddhism. This project may become part of a PhD thesis.

Even when all the ideas employed in this project may not appear original in themselves, the originality of this project resides in the clarity of what is presented.  I am very proud of the contributions from “Maria,” Chris Thompson and John Christmann of the Facebook Group “Philosophiles“.

INITIAL CONSIDERATIONS:

  1. For us, existence depends on our ability to look and perceive.
  2. The ability to look and perceive is the result of considerable evolution.
  3. What we perceive has to be manifested already and is persisting.
  4. Knowledge cannot be absolute because there is the level of UNKNOWABLE before manifestation
  5. Resolution of inconsistencies reveals the unknown.

Axiom 0: Unknowable, Manifest, Exist, Evolve, Ability, Look, Perceive, Unknown, Inconsistencies, Knowledge

KHTK AXIOM ONE: 
EXISTENCE IS EVERYTHING THAT IS MANIFESTED.
Corollary: There is no existence that is not manifested.
Corollary: Anything that is manifested is capable of being perceived.

  1. There are conjectures made.
  2. All conjectures are thoughts.
  3. Thoughts may be perceived to manifest and exist.
  4. Existence is what it is; there is no separate cause.

Axiom 1: conjecture, thought, (also part of existence)

KHTK AXIOM TWO: 
CONJECTURES ABOUT EXISTENCE ARE MANIFESTED AS CONJECTURES.
Corollary: Anything, whether physical or not, when manifested exists.

  1. Uncaused cause, Unmoved mover, God, Supreme Being, and Unconditioned being, as “source of existence,” are all conjectures.
  2. All these “source of existence” manifest and exist as conjectures. They are also part of existence.
  3. Anything, whether physical or metaphysical, when manifested exists.

Axiom 2: Conjectures: Uncaused cause, Unmoved mover, God, Supreme Being, Unconditioned being

KHTK AXIOM THREE: 
ANYTHING THAT CAN BE PERCEIVED IS MANIFESTED.

  1. There is no clear consensus on the source of existence (God).
  2. Judaism, Christianity and Islam see God as a being.
  3. To this being are assigned the properties of holiness, justice, sovereignty, omnipotence, omniscience, benevolence, omnipresence, and immortality.
  4. This makes God a part of existence.
  5. Vedas and Eastern religions see God as transcendent.
  6. This makes God unknowable and not part of existence.
  7. God is Unknowable, but conjectures make it part of existence.
  8. The sense of God actually arises with awareness.

Axiom 3: God as source of existence, God as existence, God as Unknowable

KHTK AXIOM FOUR: 
EXISTENCE IS “WHAT IS” WITHOUT ANY FURTHER QUALIFICATION.

  1. Existence is naturally consistent.
  2. Arbitrary conjectures introduce inconsistencies.
  3. Presence of inconsistencies indicate arbitrary conjectures.

Axiom 4: Existence, Conjecture, Arbitrary, Inconsistency

KHTK AXIOM FIVE:
ABSENCE OF  MANIFESTATION GIVES RISE TO MANIFESTATION.

  1. Anything unknown triggers questions, speculations and conjectures.
  2. This results in manifestation of some kind.

Axiom 5: Unknown, Trigger, Question, Speculation, Conjecture

KHTK AXIOM SIX:
A MANIFESTATION CONSISTS OF BEINGNESS AND AWARENESS.

  1. Manifestation results in existence, beingness and awareness.
  2. Awareness does not exist independent of beingness.
  3. Beingness does not exist independent of awareness.

Axiom 6: Manifestation, Beingness, Awareness

KHTK AXIOM SEVEN:
OBJECTIVITY CAN NEVER BE ABSOLUTE. THERE WILL ALWAYS BE A DEGREE OF SUBJECTIVITY.
Corollary: Subjectivity comes from the viewpoint one assumes.
Corollary: A viewpoint acts as a filter.

  1. Objectivity is lack of conjectures.
  2. But objectivity is never absolute.
  3. Subjectivity introduces conjectures. 
  4. Subjectivity comes from the viewpoint assumed.

Axiom 7: Objectivity, Subjectivity, Viewpoint, Absolute

KHTK AXIOM EIGHT: 
EXISTENCE CONSISTS OF MATTER, ENERGY, SPACE, TIME AND THOUGHT.

Faced with Unknowable, considerations are triggered. Consideration starts with visualization of what might be there. Existence is considered in terms of matter, energy, space and time. Matter is a concentrated sphere of fixed beingness. Energy is a larger sphere of activity that includes matter. Space is a still larger sphere that includes all dimensions of beingness and activity. Time considers changes in all these dimensions to the extent of their evolution over a life time. Finally, thought is the complete sphere of considerations.

Here are the Axioms of Reason:

  1. The Inquiry is into the truth
  2. By truth is meant what is; such is the perception of spirit
  3. Truth is all there is or can be; such is the perception of universality
  4. Truth is indivisibility; such is the perception of unity
  5. Truth is unchangeableness; such is the perception of permanence
  6. Truth is eternity; such is the perception of presence
  7. Truth is not cause or effect; such is the perception of freedom
  8. Truth must be just what it is and nothing else whatsoever; such perception of the inevitable is the power of truth
  9. Truth is individuality; such is the perception of humanity
  10. Truth is God; such is the perception of divinity
  11. Truth is good; such is the perception of satisfaction
  12. Truth is intelligence; such is the perception of mind
  13. Truth is not matter; such is the perception of substance
  14. Truth is love; such is the perception of bliss
  15. Truth is life; such is illumination
  16. Besides truth there is nothing; such is the perception of nature and creation
  17. Axiom of Assumption: Truth, even as an illusion, is still absolute; such is the perception of reflection

The Brain Structure

From Paper on Hinduism

Looking at the participation of electrons in chemical reactions, they seem to determine all the physical properties that we perceive. All properties of the body seem to come from how the atoms of carbon, oxygen, hydrogen, etc. bond together in large chains. This bonding comes about from sharing of electrons among atoms. The nuclei in atoms seem to act as anchors for the electronic distribution. These macromolecules are large enough to have computing circuits, which generate their own computation. This, probably, gives rise to a rudimentary form of thought. However, this cannot be entirely looked upon as “materialism” because there is an unknowable spiritual element determining that electronic configuration. I believe that physical and spiritual are aspects of a single overall system that is yet to be fully comprehended.

It may be interesting to look at the macromolecule as a genetic computer, and how a psychedelic drug may affect its operation, to fully understand the chemistry of reality.

Here is what I have found on brain waves:

Delta wave (0–4 hertz): A high amplitude brain wave… usually associated with the deepest stages of sleep.

Theta wave (4–7 Hz): Tends to appear during drowsy, meditative, or sleeping states… but not during the deepest stages of sleep.

Alpha wave (8–12 Hz): Dominate during wakeful relaxation with closed eyes… reduced with open eyes, drowsiness and sleep

Mu wave (8–13 Hz): Most prominent when the body is physically at rest… suppressed when one performs or observes a motor action

Beta wave (12-30 Hz): States associated with normal waking consciousness

Gamma wave (25-100 Hz): May be implicated in creating the unity of conscious perception

It seems that brain waves move toward a higher frequency as the brain wakes up more and more. Finally, at the level of “Gamma” one is increasingly operating at the level of intuition. Here one seems to be continually resolving inconsistencies as they arise.

With the practice of KHTK Looking, one may be able to raise the activity of the brain to the level of producing more Gamma waves. This may provide us with some understanding about the physics of reality.
