Reference: Book I: Postulate Mechanics (Text Book)

OT VIII Level of Scientology is based on the principle of Monotheism. It replaces the harmony of ONENESS of this universe by the idea of “Cause and control” through a Creator. The aberration of monotheism has spread throughout the world through the Abrahamic religions of Judaism, Christianity and Islam. The ideas of monotheism, polytheism and atheism are man-made.

Monotheism tries to replace the harmony of ONENESS of this universe by the obsession of “Cause and Control” through the valence of God.

Here are the steps involved in this version of OT VIII processing, along with my comments.

• Step One: Read and word clear Handbook for Preclears cover to cover.
• Step Two: Do all steps and exercises in the above book and note reads on any terminals or items. Keep the ruds in.

• Step Three: Listen to the History of Man tapes and star rate M4 the concepts in them (The Time Track of Theta).

• Step Four: Clear the definition of “truth” and clay demo it [Tech Dictionary].

• Step Five: Clay demo the concept of the theta line branching out toward PT from the “theta body” and how this inhibits exteriorization, ability, power and perception of truth. Clay demo what will happen if someone did OT VIII procedure who was not fully completed on OT VII (NOTS). Sort this out from the above data.
  • COMMENTS:
    • There is no “theta line” of Hubbard, but a line of thought, energy and matter that starts from a postulate of harmony.
    • There are identifications along the line that inhibit exteriorization, ability to look, power to know, and perception of truth.
    • The personal anomalies due to identifications need to be resolved on a gradient.
• Step Six: Define “know-point” in the Tech Dictionary.

• Step Seven: Study the early Dianetic Auditor Bulletin on straightwire in Tech Volume One. Study Creation of Human Ability references regarding spotting objectively and subjectively. Demo “recall,” “spotting” and “return” and how these differ.

• Step Eight: This is the processing section which is done solo.
  • COMMENTS:
    • On OT VIII, one is resolving anomalies among postulates.
    • Key anomalies point to the beliefs about “self” and “God”.
    • The process used is looking at differences and similarities.
    • The only effective process is “Neti, Neti” as described in POSTULATE MECHANICS (see Chapter 11)
• Step Nine: Run as above with Valence Splitting, etc.
  • COMMENTS:
    • On OT VIII, one is still resolving anomalies of valence.
• Step Ten: Use alternate repetitive straightwire.
  • COMMENTS:
    • On OT VIII, one is trying to recognize truth, reality and solutions.
    • The idea of “another” focuses on a valence.
    • The idea of “I” or “you” focuses on a valence too.
    • The idea of “cause and control” focuses on disharmony.
• Step Eleven: Do all steps to full EP. End on all wins until persistent F/N dies down.
  • COMMENTS:
    • The idea of “your theta” is an anomaly.
    • On OT VIII, one is trying to blow valences such as “I” and “God” while assuming them unknowingly at the same time through the attempt to be cause and in control.

Proper OT VIII

The correct approach to OT VIII is to resolve anomalies so one may attain the natural state of harmony. This approach is outlined below.
