Reference: The Dianetics Axioms
L. Ron Hubbard found that man is obeying very definite laws and rules which could be set forward in axioms. The very first and most fundamental of these is: The dynamic principle of existence is survive. That is the basic axiom of Dianetics.
The original Dianetic axioms are referenced below in black.
In color are corresponding axioms as seen through Postulate Mechanics.

Executive Summary 2025
The higher life organisms are supported by lower ones. Together they bring changes in the environment and to themselves toward greater oneness. This requires a harmonious rate of interaction.
The basic purpose of reason is to resolve violations of oneness in perception and understanding. These violations are anomalies, such as, discontinuities, inconsistencies, and disharmonies. The mind is the command post of the organism. It is concerned wholly with the resolution of anomalies.
The reason fails when it is fixated on (identified with) some aspect of the universe and fails to recognize anomalies. Rightness is made up of efforts that lead towards oneness.

Axioms 16-30
DN = Dianetics
PM = Postulate Mechanics
THETA = Life Static
PHI or MEST = The Physical Universe
LAMBDA = Living organism or organisms
DN AXIOM 16: The basic food of any organism consists of light and chemicals.
Organisms can exist only as higher levels of complexities because lower levels of converters exist. THETA evolves organisms from lower to higher forms and supports them by the existence of lower converter forms.
DN AXIOM 17: THETA, via LAMBDA, effects an evolution of MEST.
In this we have the waste products of organisms on the one hand as those very complex chemicals which bacteria make and, on the other hand, we have the physical face of the Earth being changed by animals and men, such changes as grass holding mountains from eroding or roots causing boulders to break, buildings being built and rivers being dammed. There is obviously an evolution in MEST in progress under the incursion of THETA.
DN AXIOM 18: LAMBDA, even within a species, varies in its endowment of THETA.
DN AXIOM 19: The effort of LAMBDA is toward survival. The goal of LAMBDA is survival. The penalty of failure to advance toward that goal is to succumb.
DEFINITION: Persistence is the ability to exert continuance of effort toward survival goals.
DN AXIOM 20: LAMBDA creates, conserves, maintains, requires, destroys, changes, occupies, groups and disperses MEST.
LAMBDA survives by animating and mobilizing or destroying matter and energy in space and time.
.
PM AXIOM 16: Life organisms obtain and use energy to power their life processes through chemical reactions.
NOTE: Populations of organisms adapt to their environment over time through evolution, changing across generations in response to selective pressures.
PM AXIOM 17: The life organisms also bring changes to their environment on a large scale.
NOTE: In this we have the waste products of organisms on the one hand as those very complex chemicals which bacteria make and, on the other hand, we have the physical face of the Earth being changed by animals and men, such changes as grass holding mountains from eroding or roots causing boulders to break, buildings being built and rivers being dammed.
PM AXIOM 18: Life organisms have individuality in that they vary from each other even within a species.
PM AXIOM 19: All life survives together in harmony. Any failure in harmony propels a life organism toward succumb.
NOTE: The ability to maintain harmony in all interactions is persistence of the highest order.
PM AXIOM 20: The life organism creates, conserves, maintains, requires, destroys, changes, occupies, groups and disperses substance (matter, energy and thought).
NOTE: The interactions always maintain harmony leading improved organization.
.
DN AXIOM 21: LAMBDA is dependent upon optimum motion. Motion which is too swift and motion which is too slow are equally contra survival.
DN AXIOM 22: THETA and thought are similar orders of static.
DN AXIOM 23: All thought is concerned with motion.
DN AXIOM 24: The establishment of an optimum motion is a basic goal of reason.
DEFINITION: LAMBDA is a chemical heat engine existing in space and time motivated by the life static and directed by thought.
DN AXIOM 25: The basic purpose of reason is the calculation or estimation of effort.
.
PM AXIOM 21: Life organism maintains optimum motion as part of its harmonious state. Motion which is too swift or too slow is equally harmful.
PM AXIOM 22: Optimum motion proceeds from thought to energy to matter.
PM AXIOM 23: All thought is concerned with optimizing motion.
PM AXIOM 24: Thought applies reason to optimize motion, and it directs the organism accordingly.
PM AXIOM 25: The basic purpose of reason is to determine the effort required to resolve anomalies.
NOTE: Anomalies consists of arbitrary, contradictory or missing factors obstructing harmony.
.
DN AXIOM 26: Thought is accomplished by THETA FACSIMILES of physical universe, entities or actions.
DN AXIOM 27: THETA is satisfied only with harmonious action or optimum motion and rejects or destroys action or motion above or below its tolerance band.
DN AXIOM 28: The mind is concerned wholly with the estimation of effort.
DEFINITION: Mind is the THETA command post of any organism or organisms.
DN AXIOM 29: The basic errors of reason are failure to differentiate amongst matter, energy, space and time.
DN AXIOM 30: Rightness is proper calculation of effort.
.
PM AXIOM 26: Thought is accomplished by seeking dynamic equilibrium among all motion and inertia present.
NOTE: There is inertia of unassimilated sensations, perceptions, conceptions and knowledge from the past.
PM AXIOM 27: Reason acts to resolve all anomalies and to establish harmonious action or optimum motion.
PM AXIOM 28: The mind is concerned wholly with the effort required to resolve anomalies.
NOTE: Mind is the mental matrix that maintains the harmony of the organism.
PM AXIOM 29: The basic errors of reason are failure to isolate and resolve anomalies.
PM AXIOM 30: Rightness is the effort required to resolve the anomaly present.
.
NOTES:
- DN reifies the principles, such as THETA and REASON, by giving them spiritual agency. PM states them scientifically.
- DN stresses individual survival. PM stresses survival together by resolving anomalies.
