Project: A Course on Hubbard’s Factors
This paper presents Factor # 14 from the book SCIENTOLOGY 8-8008 by L. RON HUBBARD. The contents are from the original publication of this book by The Church of Scientology (1952).
The paragraphs of the original material (in black) are accompanied by brief comments (in color) based on the present understanding. Feedback on these comments is appreciated.

FACTOR # 14. Many dimension points combine into larger gases, fluids or solids. Thus there is matter. But the most valued point is admiration, and admiration is so strong its absence alone permits persistence.
Evolution occurs as dimension points combine into more complex forms. The continuum of electromagnetic substance condenses into the solid core of the atom. Different amount of condensation produces different elements. The elements combine into molecules of different types. The elements and molecules condense into gaseous, liquid and solid forms of matter.
The matter has properties that come from its internal structure. This internal structure is dynamic. It ultimately produces animation of the forms. Both structure and animation among all dimension points are continuous, harmonious and consistent at a fundamental level. So, we have emergence of reactions. There are myriads of such connections and reactions.
Thus, come about sequences of reactions and a system to manage them. So, we have emergence of thought. And this thought becomes increasingly complex as the forms become complex. This gives birth to the mind. As the evolution throughout is continuous, harmonious and consistent, the function of the mind becomes to maintain this continuity, harmony and consistency for subsequent evolution.
But this function of the mind requires viewing things as they are, and to recognize their continuity, harmony and consistency. We may call this admiration. Absence of this admiration alters the perception of what is there and makes the altered illusion persist.
KHTK FACTOR # 14: The dimension points combine to generate more complex forms. But these forms are pure to the degree they are viewed as they are. This is admiration. Lack of admiration results in persistence of impurity.

FINAL COMMENTS
This factor is about evolution. The dimension points evolve in a continuous, harmonious and consistent fashion. Admiration involves the awareness of the evolution in its purity. Impurity comes about when the continuity, harmony and consistency of this evolution is not perceived by the mind. This then interrupts the flow of evolution.
