Reference: The Dianetic Axioms

.

SYMBOLS:

THETA: The symbol for the LIFE STATIC

DELTA: The symbol for DISTURBANCE

MEST: (matter, energy, space and time)

ICAD: (identity, consciousness, awareness and desire)

LAMBDA: The symbol for living organisms

.

DN AXIOM 46: Colonial aggregations of viruses and cells can be imbued with more THETA than they inherently contained.

Life energy joins any group, whether a group of organisms or group of cells composing an organism. Here we have personal entity, individuation, etc.

Evolution occurs from inanimate structures to animated organisms through DNA molecules. Aggregation of animated organisms into colonies that are acting together as a smoothly functioning organization is a step forward in terms of evolution.

DN AXIOM 46 (revised): DNA molecules acting in combination can advance evolution more than they inherently can.

.

DN AXIOM 47: Effort can be accomplished by LAMBDA only through the coordination of its parts toward goals.

This axiom is not revised.

.

DN AXIOM 48: An organism is equipped to be governed and controlled by a mind.

This axiom is not revised.

.

DN AXIOM 49: The purpose of the mind is to pose and resolve problems relating to survival and to direct the effort of the organism according to these solutions.

DN AXIOM 49 (revised): The purpose of the mind is to pose and resolve problems relating to evolution and to direct the effort of the organism according to these solutions.

.

DN AXIOM 50: All problems are posed and resolved through estimations of effort.

This axiom is not revised.

.

DN AXIOM 51: The mind can confuse position in space with position in time. (Counter-efforts producing action phrases.)

DN AXIOM 51 (revised): The mind can confuse a limited context with the universal reality.

.

DN AXIOM 52: An organism proceeding toward survival is directed by the mind of that organism in the accomplishment of survival effort.

DN AXIOM 52 (revised): An organism proceeding toward evolution is directed by the mind of that organism in the accomplishment of evolutionary effort.

.

DN AXIOM 53: An organism proceeding toward succumb is directed by the mind of that organism in the accomplishment of death.

DN AXIOM 53 (revised): An organism unable to evolve is directed by the mind of that organism in the accomplishment of extinction.

.

DN AXIOM 54: Survival of an organism is accomplished by the overcoming of efforts opposing its survival.

(Note: Corollary for other dynamics.)

DN AXIOM 54 (revised): Evolution of an organism is accomplished by the overcoming of efforts opposing its evolution.

.

DN AXIOM 55: Survival effort for an organism includes the dynamic thrust by that organism for the survival of itself, its procreation, its group, its subspecies, its species, all life organisms, material universe, the life static and, possibly, a Supreme Being. (Note: List of dynamics.)

We may start from the concept that there is always something to know. There is no absolute knowledge. This ultimate concept may be looked upon as “Supreme Being”. A version of it is considered to be the Eighth Dynamic by Hubbard of Scientology.

The “static” is the orientation point from which to view this vast universe. This reference point is theoretical but very essential. All properties of the universe must converge back to this point for orientation. Hubbard has a version of it as the Seventh Dynamic.

The universe is not only material but also spiritual. The material aspects are MEST (matter, energy, space and time), and the spiritual aspects are ICAD (identity, consciousness, awareness and desire). The material and spiritual aspects of the universe cannot be separated. Hubbard has a version of it as the Sixth Dynamic.

This universe evolves from the fabric of Space-awareness as it is disturbed by Time-Desire. At first there is Energy-consciousness, which then condenses into Matter-identity. Then there is progressive evolution into minerals, plant life, and animal life. This evolution has culminated into sentient humans. Humans must now understand and knowingly follow the basic laws of the universe to evolve further. Hubbard refers to a version of the above as Fifth Dynamic.

When we focus on the highest form of evolution of this universe, we have Mankind as Fourth Dynamic. We can then look at the division of Mankind into Groups as the Third Dynamic. We may highlight the organization of the reproductive activity among humans as the Second Dynamic. Finally, me may regard the individual person and his individuality as the First Dynamic.

Here we have a philosophy of evolution that is logically anchored in the Eighth Dynamic. The proper sequence of Dynamics occurs from Eighth to First. However, Hubbard reverses this sequence by making individuality as the center piece of his philosophy of Scientology.

Thus, Hubbard’s philosophy of Scientology is backwards.

DN AXIOM 55 (revised): Man as the most evolved organism must understand and follow the basic laws of the universe to evolve further.

.

DN AXIOM 56: The cycle of an organism, a group of organisms or a species is inception, growth, re-creation, decay and death.

This axiom is not revised.

.

DN AXIOM 57: The effort of an organism is directed toward the control of the environment for all the dynamics.

DN AXIOM 57 (revised): The effort of the organism is directed toward the alignment of the environment toward further evolution.

.

DN AXIOM 58: Control of an environment is accomplished by the support of pro-survival factors along any dynamic.

DN AXIOM 58 (revised): Evolution of an environment is accomplished by the support of factors already evolved.

.

DN AXIOM 59: Any type of higher organism is accomplished by the evolution of viruses and cells into forms capable of better efforts to control or live in an environment.

This axiom is not revised.

.

DN AXIOM 60: The usefulness of an organism is determined by its ability to control the environment or to support organisms which control the environment.

This axiom is not revised.
