The main topic of mindfulness discussion in this class on Mindfulness Course is the OBJECTIVE VIEW OF GOD.
-
The objective view is a universal view that is consistent within the whole universe. On the other hand, a subjective view is a narrow view that is consistent only within its local context. The objective view is unique, since it is consistent within the whole universe. On the other hand, there are numerous subjective views for the same phenomenon depending on their narrow contexts.
-
In modern terminology and understanding we can say that this universe is essentially the precipitation of order out of chaos. We may call the underlying reason as the “principle of settling down” or the “Law of Equilibrium”. The ancients called this creation the “function of God” using the vocabulary they had. Let us call it the God principle. This is an objective view.
-
This gives us a better understanding of what “monotheism” is all about. It is the recognition of a single principle responsible for the creation of this universe. This is the God principle (the precipitation of order out of chaos). Being universal, this principle is broad and general in its statement.
-
However, the suffix “theism” in monotheism refers to the conception of God as a deity, or as a powerful, human-like, supernatural being. This conception amounts to looking at an abstract God principle through a human-centric filter. It is assigning a human role to an abstract principle. Thus, this idea of “theism” is subjective.
-
Polytheism assigns a deity to each fundamental aspect of the universe. These aspects are the categorization of the universal order evolved from chaos. Thus, we may assign a deity to the phenomenon of thunder, and another deity to the phenomenon of wealth. Although it is made to look that polytheism contradicts monotheism, it is not really so. The two views dovetail. Out of a fundamental principle, come out many other principles or manifestations.
-
Pantheism considers God principle (the precipitation of order out of chaos) as the property of the whole universe. It is closer to the original abstraction because in this conception the idea of deity is diffused. Pantheism sees the God principle as an integral part of the universe. In fact, the universe is made up of the order that has precipitated out of chaos.
-
Atheism simply rejects the idea of deities, but not necessarily the God principle. It acknowledges the fact of abstraction.
-
The concept of God is described by most theologians as having the attributes of omniscience (infinite knowledge), omnipotence (unlimited power), omnipresence (present everywhere), divine simplicity, and as having an eternal and necessary existence. These are just the concrete human perspectives applied to the abstract God principle.
-
God is conceived of as the principal object of faith. In this case, faith is confidence or trust in the God principle of “order out of chaos” applied to life. No matter how chaotic life has become, it can always be put in order. This is a very fundamental faith that gives hope to Man.
.

The main topic of mindfulness discussion in this class on Mindfulness Course is the OBJECTIVE VIEW OF SPIRITUALITY.
-
The objective view is a universal view that is consistent within the whole universe. On the other hand, a subjective view is a narrow view that is consistent only within its local context. The objective view is unique, since it is consistent within the whole universe. On the other hand, there are numerous subjective views for the same phenomenon depending on its narrow context.
-
The classical view of creation has been “creation out of chaos”. This implies creation from pre-existing materials. This view is consistent with universal experience and, therefore, it is an objective view. The theological view (developed in second-century) of creation is “creation out of nothing”. This view denies pre-existing materials. This view is not consistent with universal experience. It seems to be based on personal logic and, therefore, it is a subjective view.
-
Thus, the objective view of creation is the order precipitatng in chaos. We call this activity “spirituality” and the resulting order “universe”. We may only speculate on how the chaos and spirituality came about. But we can see that “creation out of chaos” happened at the beginning of the universe, it has been happening all along in the existence of the universe, and it is happening right now in our lives.
-
We may look at this spirituality as the work of some agency, and we may call that agency God; but that is symbolization. The actual understanding comes from tracing the sequence in which order has come about from the beginning until now. We call this sequence of order “evolution”. We can trace that evolution in the present from light to humans. See reference: The “Six Days” of Creation.
-
Objectively we see the elements of spirituality, chaos and universe existing together. It is a system in which these three elements are well-integrated. This system may be described using mathematical notation as. “Spirituality + chaos = universe”. It may be described as, “Precipitation of the universe from chaos”.
-
Spirituality may be looked upon as a property of chaos, or chaos may be looked upon as an aspect of spirituality. Either way it tells us that the separation of spirituality from the physical universe is a matter of categorization. The idea that there is a God, which is separate and independent of the physical universe, is a subjective notion.
-
Other subjective notions that are also simplistic are as follows:
-
The spiritual element is superior to the physical element. Objectively, both spiritual and physical elements are equal aspects of reality.
-
The spiritual element is orderly, whereas the physical elements are chaotic. Objectively, both spiritual and physical elements can be orderly or chaotic.
-
The spiritual element is in conflict with physical elements. Objectively, the spiritual and physical elements are reflection of each other. They rise and fall together.
-
The spiritual element brings order to the physical elements. Objectively, both spiritual and physical elements evolve from chaos towards order per some principle of precipitation (Law of Equilibrium).
-
The current phase of evolution is from subjectivity toward objectivity. Subjective views come from personal assumptions, which are not consistent with universal observations. Objectivity brings about better understanding of reality from a universal perspective.
.

The main topic of mindfulness discussion in the seventh class on Mindfulness Course is THE “SIX DAYS” OF CREATION.
-
In the first (Genesis 1:1–2:3) Elohim, the Hebrew generic word for God, creates the heavens and the earth in six days, starting with light on the first day and ending with mankind on the sixth, then rests on, blesses and sanctifies the seventh.
-
God’s first act was the creation of undifferentiated light. This is like creating the whole spectrum of electromagnetic radiation. Electromagnetic energy is the manifestation of space and time as “vibrating space”. This is the first step even scientifically.
-
God created the firmament next. Here we have the emergence of firm matter. This completes the idea of the energy spectrum with space at one end and matter at the other end. It is at the upper end of this spectrum that high frequency radiation collapses into matter in the nucleus of an atom.
NOTE: Genesis represents space as “waters”, energy as “light”, and matter as “firmament”. Time is part of the frequency which defines the spectrum.
-
Third in this sequence is the emergence of land and seas; and the plant life on the land. All these things are formed out of matter. First there are inanimate objects, and then there is animated life.
-
Fourth in this sequence is the recognition of order in the system as the recurrence of day and night, and the seasons. Thus, an accounting of time as days and years was introduced. The seasons influenced the vegetation and the crops in a cyclical manner.
NOTE: These earth days are different from “God’s days”. The “God’s days” essentially establish the sequence of creation.
-
Fifth in this sequence is the emergence of animal life. This is the mobile form of life that is not rooted in earth. This life form has more options. It is, therefore, more analytical than the plant life.
-
Sixth in this sequence is the emergence of mankind. This is a higher form of life in which intelligence is introduced. Intelligence is a tool that helps mankind rule over other life for its orderly sustenance.
NOTE: Here God is the principle that has brought forth order out of chaos. This capability has now been transferred to Man in the form of intelligence. Man is to use intelligence to bring forth order out of chaos.
-
These “six days of creation” is actually a description of the evolution of order out of chaos. The stages of evolution may be laid out scientifically as follows:
- From continuity of energy to discreteness of matter
- From chaos to universal order among matter (universal laws)
- From matter to individual material objects (heavenly bodies)
- From material objects to rooted organisms (plant life)
- From rooted organisms to animated life (animal life)
- From animated to thinking life organisms (intelligent life)
-
The “seventh day” is considered the day of rest. This is equivalent to a transition from trial-and-error stage to an intelligent stage of evolution.
-
The idea of creationism denies this evolution because it believes an instantaneous “creation out of nothing”. This was a second century theological development that deviated from traditional belief of “creation out of chaos”. See reference: The Creation Myth.
-
The traditional Biblical belief supports evolution as compared to the later development of “creationism”. We associate the original Cause and its intentions with God. In the present we may associate those fundamentals with the Law of Equilibrium.
-
We may define GOD as follows:
.
SUBJECTIVE DEFINITION: God is that “single Cause” that brings forth the world out of nothing.
.
OBJECTIVE DEFINITION: God is the universal Law of Equilibrium that is continually bringing order out of chaos.
-
So, we can say that in the beginning there was chaos, and the Law of Equilibrium brought order to it. But that law has been the fact all along. At this moment the Law of Equilibrium is bringing order out of chaos by injecting objectivity into subjectivity.
-
This is Mindfulness.
.

The main topic of mindfulness discussion in the fifth class on Mindfulness Course is THE HUMAN EXISTENCE.
.
THE HUMAN ORGANISM
-
A human is a life organism that consists of a body and a mind. The component of spirit is added to it with the evolution of intelligence at this level.
-
The body is associated with physical attributes. The mind and spirit are associated with metaphysical attributes. It is considered that in some way the human spirit, with a portion of the mind, can be cleanly separated from the human body, but this is only a subjective feeling. In truth, the physical and metaphysical attributes are well-integrated as they are in the rest of the universe.
-
The basic physical attributes are space and time that evolve into energy and matter. These attributes may be abbreviated as MEST (matter, energy, space and time). The human body is essentially MEST, which is continuous with all other MEST in the universe at the level of electromagnetic energy, space and time.
-
The basic metaphysical attributes are awareness and desire that evolve into consciousness and identity. These attributes may be abbreviated as ICAD (identity, consciousness, awareness and desire). The human mind and spirit are essentially ICAD, which is continuous with all other ICAD in the universe at the level of consciousness, awareness and desire.
-
There appears to be an equivalency between “matter and identity”; “energy and consciousness”; “awareness and space”; and “desire and time”. Thus, evolution occurs in tandem between physical and metaphysical attributes. In addition, there are likely to be parallels between physical and metaphysical laws.
-
The metaphysical attributes are generally represented by “life”. The physical attributes are represented as the “physical universe”. However, the physical universe is the outer form of life; just as life is the inner essence of the physical universe. Life and the physical universe are integrated and cannot be separated.
.
THE HUMAN MIND
-
The human mind is an experiential matrix, where free association and postulation takes place to align all experience. It is made up of ICAD (identity, consciousness, awareness and desire). The mind is anchored to the human body, but it covers the whole universe as its scope.
-
The mind receives perceptions from the environment and aligns them within the existing experiential matrix. This alignment is then reflected in the efforts of the human organism, which deals with the efforts in the environment. This cycle is continuous and dynamic.
-
When the perceptions received in the mind can be well aligned and thus assimilated within the experiential matrix then they reflect in the rational behavior of the human organism. When the perceptions cannot be so assimilated, they reflect as reactive or irrational behavior.
-
The perceptions that do not align with the experiential matrix simply get lodged there as received. Thereafter, such “unassimilated experience” gets activated whenever similar perceptual content appears in the environment. This then leads to reactivity in behavior.
-
The unassimilated experience in the mind has its own “limited context” inside the wider context of the mind. When activated, this limited context determines the response of the human organism. It often appears as “alternate personality” in contrast to the personality of the mind.
-
The personality of the mind has a much larger assimilated context of the experiential matrix. So, it appears that the larger and better aligned is the context the more rational ia the response.
-
One may say that there is a “universal experiential field” in which the inanimate objects are reflected by their properties according to the laws of physics. The additional properties of animation of living organisms are also reflected therein, integrated with inanimate properties. This is the mind of the universe.
-
This universal experiential field surrounds the experiential matrix of the human mind. When the experiential matrix of the mind is integrated with the surrounding experiential field then the context of the human mind expands to become universal. This universal context then provides the most rational response.
-
It seems that there is a Law of Rationality as follows:
RATIONALITY OF THE MIND DEPENDS ON THE UNIVERSALITY OF THE CONTEXT IT USES.
.
HUMAN LIFE & DEATH
-
The human organism is part of the universe. We may say that the human body is part of the universal body, the human mind is part of the universal mind, and human soul is part of the universal soul, which we identify as God.
-
The human body, mind and soul are well-integrated. None of these three components can exist independently of the other two. When the human organism dies, all three components (body, mind and soul) decompose into finer existence.
-
The physical and metaphysical attributes of the human organism correspond to each other. When the physical attributes disintegrate and regenerate; the corresponding metaphysical attributes also disintegrate and regenerate.
-
All three components (body, mind and soul) come into existence at birth. Majority of physical and metaphysical attributes come from the parents, but some may be absorbed from the environment.
-
At birth, it is rare that a body, mind and soul, which existed before, come back into existence. Physical and metaphysical attributes, which existed before, may reappear in different combinations; but the personality, or soul, disintegrates just like the body, and never reincarnates.
.

The main topic of mindfulness discussion in the fourth class on Mindfulness Course is EVOLUTION OF THE UNIVERSE.
.
THE CREATION
-
The attributes of this universe are simply there as perceived by us. We perceive interactions among these attributes. We see these interactions producing new attributes.
-
We basically perceive a CHANGE flanked by cause and effect. These “changes” appear in chain, or as a network. We do not perceive some “absolute nothing” before change.
-
A CHANGE is always from a relative nothing to something. This applies to any idea of creation. A creation is basically a change.
-
The idea that “God created this world” can only mean that God evolved into this world. God and this world is, therefore, a single system called the universe.
.
THE EVOLUTION OF MATTER
-
In this universe, the forms appear; they survive; and then they perish giving way to new forms. All forms perish ultimately. No form survives forever.
-
It appears that the goal is to bring order into chaos, and not to seek immortality for some particular form. The dynamic principle of existence, therefore, seems to be evolution and not mere survival.
-
In evolution, discreteness arises from continuous background. That background is continuous space. Discreteness arises as frequency of electromagnetic energy, which evolves into resonances of electrons, and then into particles of nucleons. Particles then form larger discrete objects.
-
Just because discrete objects appear separate from each other, it does not mean that they are not connected at the fundamental level of energy and space. As an abstraction, whole numbers appear to be discrete, but they are connected by fractions and irrational numbers on a continuous number line.
-
The universe, thus, remains a vast single continuous system no matter how chaotic it appears.
.
THE EVOLUTION OF LIFE
-
The RNA and DNA molecules have enough electrons to acquire the property of programmable circuits. Life begins as these circuits acquire natural programming that leads to animation.
-
Life is the property of natural animation. It is manifested in material structures called cells. Cells are the building blocks of living organisms.
-
The living organism and all its attributes are part of the universe. The attributes seem to be harmoniously integrated. However, we categorize them as physical and metaphysical.
-
The physical attributes characterize the body of the organism. The metaphysical attributes characterize the animation of the organism, and are further characterized as the mind and spirit of the organism.
-
We may consider the universe to be a living organism. The physical attributes manifest as the form of the universe. The metaphysical attributes manifest as the mind and spirit of the universe, which may be identified as God.
.
THE EVOLUTION OF THINKING
-
In inanimate objects, the “thinking” is in terms of reaction. By reaction is meant, that there is only one option in how to respond to some stimuli.
-
As animation enters into the picture, the reaction expands into a series of responses. This is the case with plant life. Multiple optional responses to the same stimuli are still lacking.
-
When there is more than one option on how to respond to same stimuli, then we have analytical thinking. Such thinking seems to appear with animal life. Here we see the organisms of the same specie responding differently to the same stimuli.
-
There is greater analytical thinking at the level of highly evolved animal life. But it is not random. There seems to be a consistency associated with it.
-
Analytical can be seen as the result of enhanced biological programming, which initially brought about animation.
.
THE EVOLUTION OF INTELLIGENCE
-
Biological programming, at its highest level, is able to modify itself based on the feedback. This ability manifests as intelligence at the level of humans.
-
Intelligence is the ability to recognize differences, similarities and identities. It takes decision on the basis of observing things as they are. This is the highest level of evolution so far.
-
However, this intelligence can easily be suppressed by force and reduced to analytical, and then reactive thinking. A person remains in these lower modes of thinking when stressed.
-
Further evolution may lead to intelligence that is robust and immune to stress. For this to occur, the current intelligence needs to understand its own evolution.
-
Intelligence goes back to analytical thinking to reactive thinking to some fundamental alignment, which precipitates from chaos. There seems to be some sort of settling down or reaching of equilibrium.
.
THE LAW OF EQUILIBRIUM
-
There seems to be a Law of Equilibrium as the fundamental law of the universe. A form of this law appears as the law of entropy in Thermodynamics.
-
It is the Law of Equilibrium that brings about the evolution from “static reactivity” of material objects, to “animated reactivity” of plant life, to “analytical thinking” of animal life, to “intelligence” of humans.
-
Looking on the cosmic scale, there was no intelligence at the beginning of the universe. The idea, “There was intelligence at the beginning in the form of God,” seems to be subjective. There seems to be only the Law of Equilibrium in the beginning.
-
The infinity of GOD has evolved from the zero of the Law of Equilibrium, which Buddha called NIRVANA.
.
Now we shall be looking more closely at the human existence.
