Processing is the application of a procedure to bring about an improvement in a person’s condition. In Subject Clearing, the processes have been obtained from the study of Vedic Hinduism, Buddhism, Psychoanalysis and Scientology.

In Subject Clearing, you can always go back to a previously applied process and run it again.

.

Process

This Subject Clearing process explores the subject of the universe.

PREREQUISITE: Subject Clearing Aberration

Look up these words in this sequence per the definitions given below.

HYPNOSIS, HYPNOTIC INDUCTION, TRANCE, SUGGESTION, ALTERED STATE, ATTENTION, AWARENESS, DISSOCIATION, SLEEP

As you look up a definition, ask yourself,

“What crosses my mind as I look up this definition?”

Notice the internal reaction. Apply The 12 Aspects of Mindfulness to that reaction. If there is a disagreement, or you sense some anomaly, then address it with Subject Clearing Viewpoint.

You may consult dictionaries, Wikipedia, Textbooks, etc., to sort out the disagreement or anomaly present. Contemplate on these words until you are fully satisfied with your understanding.

HYPNOSIS
Hypnosis is a mental state of focused concentration, and diminished peripheral awareness, which makes it possible to access the thought structure that forms a person’s viewpoint. Once the state of hypnosis is induced, suggestions may be given to a person to modify his viewpoint. The person then returns to his normal state of consciousness with a modified viewpoint. It has been found that a person usually had his attention fixed on something. One can, therefore, insert appropriate suggestion through normal conversation.

HYPNOTIC INDUCTION
Hypnotic induction is the process undertaken by a hypnotist to establish the state or conditions required for hypnosis to occur. It is inducing an altered state of mind (or trance) before implanting a suggestion.

James Braid in the nineteenth century saw fixing the eyes on a bright object as the key to hypnotic induction. A century later, Sigmund Freud saw fixing the eyes, or listening to a monotonous sound as indirect methods of induction, as opposed to “the direct methods of influence by way of staring or stroking”—all leading however to the same result, the subject’s unconscious concentration on the hypnotist. In addition, some means of heightening client expectation, defining their role, etc., also lead to this result.

The swinging watch and intense eye gaze—staples of hypnotic induction in film and television—are not used in practice as the rapidly changing movements, and the obvious cliché of their application, would be distracting rather than focusing.

TRANCE
Trance is a state of semi-consciousness in which a person is not  fully aware. Trance states may occur involuntarily and unbidden. In this state, the person is capable of pursuing and realizing an aim. He is selectively responsive in following the directions of the person who has induced the trance.

SUGGESTION
Suggestion is the psychological process by which a person guides desired thoughts, feelings, and behaviors in the form of reflexes elicited by presenting stimuli, instead of relying on conscious effort. This can help manage irritable even bowel syndrome and menopause.

ALTERED STATE
Altered state of mind is any condition which is significantly different from a normal waking state.

ATTENTION
Attention is the concentration of awareness on some phenomenon to the exclusion of other stimuli. It is a process of selectively concentrating on a discrete aspect of information, whether considered subjective or objective.

AWARENESS
Awareness is a concept about knowing, perceiving and being cognizant of phenomena and events.

DISSOCIATION
Dissociation is a mental process where a person disconnects from his thoughts, feelings, memories or sense of identity.

SLEEP
Sleep is a state of reduced mental and physical activity in which consciousness is altered and sensory activity is inhibited to a certain extent. During sleep, there is a decrease in muscle activity, and interactions with the surrounding environment. While sleep differs from wakefulness in terms of the ability to react to stimuli, it still involves active brain patterns, making it more reactive than a coma or disorders of consciousness.

Definitions

ABERRATION
Aberration is a departure from rational thought or behavior. From the Latin, aberrare, to wander from; Latin, ab, away, errare, to wander. It means basically to err, to make mistakes, or more specifically to have fixed ideas which are not true. Aberrated conduct would be wrong conduct, or conduct not supported by reason. In general, aberration is a violation of the Principle of Oneness that is seen as anomalies.

.

ANOMALY
An ANOMALY is any violation of the Principle of Oneness, such as, discontinuity (missing data), inconsistency (contradictory data), or disharmony (arbitrary data). An anomaly is always viewed from one’s viewpoint. Resolution of anomaly always expand’s the knowingness of one’s viewpoint.

.

UNASSIMILATED IMPRESSION
Anomalies arise in the viewpoint when there are unassimilated impressions. Such impressions exist in the mind in the form of facsimiles, misconceptions and mis-postulates. They create all kinds of aberrations in a person’s thinking and behavior. The solution lies in discovering and assimilating such impressions.

.

FACSIMILE
When a sensations, such as those from traumatic experiences, are difficult to break up, they remain as a copy (facsimile) of what was sensed. The facsimile does not get assimilated into the mental matrix; and therefore, its contents cannot be perceived. The facsimile is, however, embedded in the mental matrix. When it gets activated it acts as an unknown influencer. It gives rise to aberrated thinking and behavior that cannot be corrected without discovering and assimilating the facsimile.

.

MISCONCEPTION
A misconception is an erroneous conception, a mistaken notion, such as, a fixed idea, an irrational belief, or a misunderstood.

.

MIS-POSTULATE
A mis-postulate is a postulate that is in violation of the Principle of Oneness.

.

UNCONSCIOUS MIND
Freud postulated the unconscious mind, which affects a person’s emotions and behavior, but the person is not conscious of its contents.  The “unconscious mind” seems to be the thought structure of the person’s viewpoint. The viewpoint can perceive everything external to it, but it cannot perceive its own thought structure.

.

REACTIVE MIND
The unassimilated parts of the mental matrix influence the thinking of a person into having fixed ideas, and influence his behavior into engaging in actions not supported by reason. This is the Reactive Mind postulated by Hubbard, which works on a totally stimulus-response basis.

.

HYSTERIA
Hysteria is a term often used to describe emotionally charged behavior that seems excessive and out of control. When someone responds in a way that seems disproportionately emotional for the situation, they are often described as being “hysterical.”

.

DEPRESSION
Depression is a mood disorder that causes a persistent feeling of sadness and loss of interest. Also called major depressive disorder or clinical depression, it affects how you feel, think and behave and can lead to a variety of emotional and physical problems.

.

ANXIETY
Anxiety is constant computation or worry about a certain problem. Anxiety may be defined as apprehension, tension, or uneasiness that stems from the anticipation of danger, which may be internal or external.

Definitions

The mind is that aspect of the beingness which senses and expands through postulates.

The Mind

.

A matrix is a surrounding medium, structure, or environment in which something develops. The mind functions as a matrix.

The Mental Matrix

.

The data which the mind operates on, first appears as sensations.

The Sensation

.

The sensation must be decomposed into perceptual elements for it to be assimilated in the mental matrix.

The Perceptual Element

.

We see the universe in many different ways. These are various forms of perception.

The Perception (Memory, Imagination, Hallucination)

.

When sensations do not get decomposed and assimilated, they remain as an uninterpreted facsimiles.

The Facsimile

.

Facsimiles or samskara’s corrupt one’s perception and the ability to reason. The remedy has been mindfulness since ancient times.

The Mindfulness

.

In perceiving and reasoning, the data at every step must make sense. And that means all data should be ONE according to the principle of Oneness.

The Reasoning

.

UNDERSTANDING
Understanding comes about when all anomalies related to a subject are resolved. In other words, the associations among the relevant elements related to that subject have become continuous, consistent and harmonious.

.

CONSCIOUSNESS
Consciousness is degree of awareness. It depends on the fineness of perceptual elements in one’s mental matrix. The perceptual elements are much finer in humans than in animals. Therefore, the consciousness in humans is much higher.

Cognitive Therapy with Subject Clearing

Reference: Course on Subject Clearing

Cognitive Therapy is the brainchild of Aaron T. Beck. He lived to be 100 years. So, he must be doing something right. In the video above, he is being interviewed at the age of 90 by his daughter.

In short, Cognitive Therapy may be defined as follows:

COGNITIVE THERAPY
Cognitive Therapy handles anomalies in the thought structure of a person’s viewpoint that he is not quite aware of. These anomalies distorts the person’s view. He thinks narrowly in black and white, overgeneralizes, and makes negative representation of the self. The therapist gives him reassurance and positive reinforcement. He helps the person explore his behavior back to the thought structure underlying his viewpoint.

The key cognitive therapy question is, “What was going through your mind just then?” Other questions are: Is there overgeneralization? Is there some alternative explanation? Is there a logic to that? When the person looks at the automatic thoughts arising from his thought structure, he starts to get better.

SUBJECT CLEARING
With Subject Clearing, you are clearing the key concepts of a subject, coming forward from the earliest concept. You do this using the definitions provided. You then handle the anomalies as they come up in the form of disagreements. The disagreements allow one to look closely at certain concepts, and may help discover arbitraries in one’s thinking.

The definitions provided could also need some improvement, but the disagreement provides an opportunity to look for arbitraries in one’s thinking. This gradually sweeps away such arbitraries.

.

Here is a little exercise to get some idea of Cognitive Therapy with Subject Clearing. Look up the following definition of UNIVERSE; and ask yourself,

“What crosses my mind as I look up this definition?”

.

UNIVERSE
The universe is not just physical; it is also metaphysical, real, imaginary, postulated or speculated. Nothing is excluded from the universe. The root meaning of the word UNIVERSE is “entire, all, literally, turned into one,” which means that the universe is continuous, consistent and harmonious as per the Principle of Oneness. The universe is knowable as opposed to the Unknowable. This means that the universe is made up of substance.

.

You may be surprised to find what crosses your mind. It could be a thought such as, “This is too deep for me,” or, “I have never understood this kind of stuff.”

These kind of thoughts are negative representation of the self. Anyway, these are just some examples. Go ahead and discover your own internal reaction.

Write down your questions or disagreements that you would like to resolve. See if you can resolve those questions using the Internet. Otherwise, contact me.

Process

To confront means, “to face without flinching or avoiding.” Before you can confront another person, or others, you must be able to first confront yourself. This is what it means to “be there.” In this process you learn to be there and confront on a gradient. Please study carefully and understand the following document.

Be There and Confront

Here are a couple of exercise from Scientology, called TR0, that are very effective when you do them with another person. It does not have to be the same person every time.

TR0 with Mindfulness

If you do not have another person to work with then do the following.

Mindfulness Meditation

.

Notes

The TR0 exercise allows the mental matrix to better assimilate itself. In doing so it may resolve some anomalies at the subconscious level. It does resolve other anomalies by bringing them up to a conscious level.

The TR0 exercise, when applied with the universal context of the Principle of Oneness in mind, helps assimilate the mental matrix at a fundamental level.

.

The Principle of Oneness

Oneness does not imply sameness. Oneness means that all that is known is continuous, consistent and harmonious. This Principle of Oneness underlies the very concept of the universe. It also underlies the Scientific method. This principle gives us the ideal scene for logic, because its violation gives us anomalies.
