There is no reason why there shouldn’t be a multiplicity of viewpoints. Thus, there are multiple lines of reasoning present.
When different lines of reasoning come together, there are interchanges among the viewpoints. But these interchanges are in terms of the dimension points.
Such interchanges may give rise to new directions in which to look. Thus, come about new lines of reasoning, new viewpoints, and new dimension points.

Hubbard doesn’t explain how new viewpoints come about. He sees them as eternal thetans that do not get created or destroyed.

Logic
Viewpoints guide the lines of reasoning. As a consequence there are realizations. Realizations bring about new postulates. New postulates then lead to new viewpoints and new lines of reasoning.
There are no eternally fixed number of viewpoints in the form of thetans.
