Postulates 46 – 60

Reference: The Postulates: Postulate Mechanics

These postulates present the structure of anomalies.

A postulate is a foundational assumption taken as true, from which everything else is derived.

Abbreviation: PS = Postulate

Postulates

PS 46: An anomaly is a violation of oneness.

  1. An anomaly is present when there is a disharmony, inconsistency, or discontinuity.
  2. An anomaly is something that does not make sense.
  3. Anomalies underlie problems, confusions, difficulties, unwanted conditions, etc.

PS 47: The anomaly takes the form of arbitrary, contradictory, or missing data.

  1. Arbitrary data represents something that doesn’t fit and has no clear reason.
  2. Contradictory data represents two things that cancel each other out.
  3. Missing data represents a gap where something should be but isn’t.

PS 48: Anomaly in sensation is resolved by experiencing it.

  1. Anomaly at the level of sensation appears as charge (tension).
  2. It is confronting the sensation, and letting it flow through you.
  3. It means neither resisting, nor avoiding the sensation.

PS 49: Anomaly in perception is resolved by looking at it closely.

  1. Anomaly at the level of perception appears as an illusion or hallucination.
  2. You look at it closely according to the laws of looking.
  3. The laws of looking are listed at Chapter 6: The Laws of Looking.

PS 50: Anomaly in experience is resolved by locating earlier similar experiences.

  1. Anomaly at the level of experience appears as an unwanted condition (confusion, problems, etc.)
  2. To resolve you look at the experience from beginning to end.
  3. If the anomaly is not resolving then there is an earlier similar experience.

PS 51: Anomaly in concept is resolved by clearing up its definitions.

  1. If the definition contains an anomaly then that would have to be resolved too.
  2. Complete resolution of anomaly may require updating of the definition.

PS 52: Anomaly in knowledge is resolved by arranging the terminology in an order.

  1. The terminology of a subject must be harmonious, consistent and continuous.

PS 53: Anomalies are difficult to spot when they are justified.

  1. Anomalies also hide themselves under arbitrary assumptions, beliefs and fixed ideas.

PS 54: Anomalies are resolved by looking and not thinking.

  1. Resolution of anomalies requires careful understanding of oneness.

PS 55: When you recognize an anomaly thoroughly, it ceases to be an anomaly.

PS 56: Uncontrolled chattering of the mind is an anomaly. To resolve it you look at closely without getting involved in it.

  1. Do not try to figure out the mental chattering. That would be thinking and not looking.
  2. Let the mind unfold itself completely.

PS 57: Uncontrolled feeling or emotion is an anomaly. To resolve it, dive into the center of it, and experience it fully.

  1. Don’t dig into the mind. That can be harmful.
  2. Let the feeling or emotion pour itself out and discharge.

PS 58: When an anomaly does not resolve by looking, an identification exists.

  1. Anomaly does not resolve when there is no distance between awareness and thought.

PS 59: To resolve identification, assign a natural location to the anomaly to have some distance.

  1. Alternatively, make copies of the anomaly (especially a picture) and place them all over the place.

PS 60: The unknown is made known through the resolution of anomalies.
