History of the Theta Line
The theta line is known to the person being audited through his DNA programming. It is an extension of the genetic line. The theta line includes self-awareness.
The assimilated beingness is of no concern. Only the unassimilated impressions needs to be sorted out. The whole track consists of unassimilated impressions only.
Facsimiles are unassimilated impressions. These are the impressions that the mind received and failed to assimilate. “Second facsimiles” are more likely speculations and theories used to justify something. The moment a person becomes aware of his effort to justify, and accepts the truth, these facsimiles are knocked out wholesale.
“Separation from the Main Body of Theta” occurs when the first postulate is made in an effort to know the Unknowable. The first postulate, when settled, also acts as the “Home Universe” because it operates as the starting point of the genetic/theta line. The genetic/theta line consists of a GE stage that operates more or less automatically. It is followed by the Thetan stage, which operates with awareness of its actions.
Entrapment occurs due to anomalies that one is unaware of. It leads to conditioned behavior patterns. Overt acts are anomalies in the thetan stage because one is aware of them. Earlier anomalies are in the form of misconceptions that are best handled with subject clearing.
The whole task is to establish the oneness of beingness by eliminating anomalies.
NOTE: The time of incidents was important to Hubbard for locating them by dating them on the E-meter; otherwise, time has no relevance in auditing. Unassimilated incidents should come up by themselves in auditing. Misconceptions, however, would have to be spotted using the technique of subject clearing.

Definitions
GENETIC LINE
The Genetic Line consists of the total of incidents which have occurred during the evolution of the MEST body itself. The composite of these facsimiles has the semblance of a being. This being would be called the Genetic Entity or the “GE”.
THETA LINE
The Theta Line consists of the total of incidents which have occurred during the evolution of self-awareness. The composite of these facsimiles has the semblance of a being. This being is called the Thetan.
