Memory from IITK (1964)

This too is another life… another world.

I am the eighteen-year old in the center with glasses… I am currently in touch with my friends here. We may meet in the class reunion in March 2013 and get another picture like this one.

The IITK campus was still under construction as can be seen in the background. Our batch was the first to arrive directly at this campus.

    We all met at IITK (Indian Institute of Technology, Kanpur) in the year 1963 as 16 and 17 years old.

    Next year (2013) would be the 50th Anniversary of that occasion. We shall all be gathering once again at IITK, flying back from all over the world as 66 and 67 years old. Unfortunately, a few of us have passed away and won’t be there.

    It is going to be a memorable occasion for us.

    Was someone named Satya Prakash Nigam in your batch, in mechanical engineering group?

      Yes. He was in mechanical engineering. I have not been in touch with him since the 60s.

    Well, he is my dad. It is so nice to meet you here sir. 😇 Might you know someone who might have “accidentally” clicked a pic of him during his time at the IIT?

        Strange that WordPress didn’t tie my previous comment to my online avatar or the previous thread that I wanted to reply under.

        I meant Mr. Satya Prakash Nigam. He is not on this picture, I’m sorry to have caused that confusion.
