The Individual (old)

Please see Postulate Mechanics.

.

The Individual

An individual is that beingness matrix that is coordinated and assimilated enough to become conscious. The individual is the most sophisticated beingness. It represents the current human beingness.

The individual can be part of a larger beingness matrix, whose goal is to fully assimilate itself towards fulfilling the postulate of Self. Being conscious an individual can now recognize, analyze and rapidly overcome the barriers to evolution.

.

Misconception

An individual misconceives his limited individuality to be the total Self.

The human awareness adds consciousness that does not exist in inanimate objects, plants and animals. It is a sophisticated awareness that exists  alongside a sophisticated body-mind matrix. The beingness is not a “spirit separate from the mind-body matrix.” The mind-body-spirit is a single system of beingness.

A big deal is made in Scientology about the difference between individuality and identity. Scientology focuses on getting rid of identities; but it works on strengthening the individuality (thetan). But the “thetan” is at the core of a long term fixation that is persisting through lifetimes.

A lifetime is the period during which the individuality is in an active state. Between lives, the individuality reduces to inactive and frozen patterns of thought. In the long term the individuality is always changing, either increasing or decreasing in its fixation. It is a misconception to think that any individuality is eternal or permanent.
