The Factors 26 – 30

Project: A Course on Hubbard’s Factors

The original Scientology Factors are a summation of the considerations and examinations of the human spirit and the material universe, which was completed between A.D. 1923 and 1953 by L. Ron Hubbard.

The KHTK Factors are a result of the subject clearing of Buddhism, Scientology and philosophy in general.

.

FACTOR # 26. The manifestations of pleasure and pain, of thought, emotion and effort, of thinking, of sensation, of affinity, reality, communication, of behavior and being are thus derived and the riddles of our universe are apparently contained and answered herein.

There is no thinking when one is objectively observing things as they are. It is the view that is thinking. Similarly, it is the view that contains the emotions, sensations and feelings. In reaction to this view come about behaviors, such as, communication and effort.

Therefore, additional thoughts, emotions, sensations and feelings are generated as reactions only. If there are no reactions, nothing beyond the view is generated, and view starts resolving itself. As the view is simplified, so are the thoughts, emotions and effort in them.

There is no thinking really. All there is, is the view. Affinity, reality and sensations are part of what is viewed. Any communication simply flows naturally. The key to life is fully understanding what is there. Therein lies ultimate truth, awareness and bliss.

KHTK FACTOR # 26 (old): All human travails and the riddles of the universe derive from the narrow and individualistic viewpoints. They resolve as we broaden our viewpoint to the universal viewpoint.

.

FACTOR # 27. There is beingness, but Man believes there is only becomingness.

We find Man in a state in which he is identifying himself with his subjective viewpoint. In other words, he entertains fixed ideas, prejudices and beliefs, and he is fixated on his view of things. Salvation lies in letting go of such fixations and arriving at the objectivity of the universal viewpoint.

But it is very hard to let go of such fixations in the absence of better clarity of view. This is possible, however with subject clearing of the scriptures of one’s own religion as well as those of other religions. Overall, it requires a wide study of life and the resolution of the contradictions, doubts and perplexities thus found.

KHTK FACTOR # 27 (old): There is beingness of universal viewpoint, but Man believes only in the becomingness of individual viewpoints.

.

FACTOR # 28. The resolution of any problem posed hereby is the establishment of viewpoints and dimension points, the betterment of condition and concourse amongst dimension points, and, thereby, viewpoints, and the remedy of abundance or scarcity in all things, pleasant or ugly, by the rehabilitation of the ability of the viewpoint to assume points of view, and create and uncreate, neglect, start, change and stop dimension points of any kind at the determinism of the viewpoint. Certainty in all three universes must be regained, for certainty, not data, is knowledge.

The resolution of any human condition requires the broadening of the viewpoint toward the objectivity of universal viewpoint. This means noticing the anomalies (inconsistencies, disharmonies and discontinuities) because of one’s individual viewpoint. This doesn’t mean giving up one’s individuality and becoming one with universe. This means giving up self-generated considerations that are preventing one from seeing things as they are.

There may appear abundance or scarcity in all things, pleasant or ugly, but what really needs to be remedied is the ability of the viewpoint to examine the fixations and letting them unwind naturally. The individual viewpoint must be expanded toward becoming a universal viewpoint.

KHTK FACTOR # 28 (old): The resolution of any human condition requires the broadening of the individual viewpoint toward the universal viewpoint. This means giving up self-generated considerations that are preventing one from seeing things as they are.

.

FACTOR # 29. In the opinion of the viewpoint, any beingness, any thing, is better than no thing, any effect is better than no effect, any universe better than no universe, any particle better than no particle, but the particle of admiration is best of all.

The universal viewpoint represents the beingness of the universe as “observer”. The universal dimension points represent the beingness of the universe as “observed”. At the level of the universe there is no distinction between the “observer” and “observed”.  As viewpoint narrows the objective view of dimension points is increasingly replaced by the subjective view of opinions. The “observer” then appears to be separate from the “observed”.

As long as there is viewpoint, there is also beingness and there is also universe and particles. Admiration is the appreciation of dimension points for what they are. It brings the observer and the observed together as one. It is, therefore, the most valuable particle.

KHTK FACTOR # 29 (old): The narrow individuality of the viewpoint puts separation between observer and the observed; whereas, admiration brings the observer and the observed closer together. The particle of admiration, therefore, is best of all.

.

FACTOR # 30. And above these things there might be speculation only. And below these things there is the playing of the game. But these things which are written here Man can experience and know. And some may care to teach these things and some may care to use them to assist those in distress and some may desire to employ them to make individuals and organizations more able and so give to Earth a culture of which we can be proud.

In these Factors, Hubbard seem to be addressing the human condition just as Buddha did. But he favors the “individuality” of narrow viewpoints and ends up disparaging the attainment of universal viewpoint, which was embodied in the goal of Nirvana of Buddha.

Hubbard focuses on those things that, according to him, can be experienced and known. This may be true as he shares the subjective individuality of the western culture. But this subjectivity flies in the face of the objectivity of Vedas and Buddhism that is the characteristic of the eastern civilization.

Hubbard, however, has used modern scientific approach in his subject of Scientology that is valuable. These Factors simply need to be aligned with the fundamental objectivity of Vedas and Buddhism. I have attempted to do this in my proposed revision of the Factors.

KHTK FACTOR # 30 (old): This revision of Hubbard’s pioneering work is an attempt to make it consistent with the objectivity of Vedas and Buddhism. Let’s hope that it inspires new powerful techniques for the resolution of the human condition.

The Factors 21 – 25

Project: A Course on Hubbard’s Factors

The original Scientology Factors are a summation of the considerations and examinations of the human spirit and the material universe, which was completed between A.D. 1923 and 1953 by L. Ron Hubbard.

The KHTK Factors are a result of the subject clearing of Buddhism, Scientology and philosophy in general.

.

FACTOR # 21. From this comes a consistency of viewpoint of the interaction of dimension points and this, regulated, is TIME.

Time is the duration of existence. Each dimension point (and its form) has its own duration (time), which is measured against the infinite duration of existence. When self-generated considerations get agreed upon by the viewpoints, they gain fixed duration. Such agreements allow the viewpoints to view and interact with the dimension points in a consistent manner, if not accurately.

The time duration of agreements has a fixed characteristic. Time has a dynamic characteristic to the degree considerations of dimension points are evolving.

KHTK FACTOR # 21 (old): TIME is duration of things measured against the infinite duration of existence. Universal viewpoint, and the agreements among subjective viewpoints, provide a consistent view of time.

.

FACTOR # 22. And there are universes.

For a viewpoint, the universe is entirety of its awareness. The universal viewpoint has the awareness of entire existence that is continuous, harmonious and consistent throughout. This shall be the objective view of the universe.

As a viewpoint narrows it loses the context of the entire existence. It views things from a limited context, which limits its awareness. The awareness is no longer continuous, harmonious and consistent throughout, but has holes in it. These holes are filled by self-generated considerations; therefore, the viewpoint becomes subjective to that degree. A subjective viewpoint’s awareness constitutes a subjective universe.

KHTK FACTOR # 22 (old): There is only one objective universe; but there are as many “subjective universes” as there are subjective viewpoints.

.

FACTOR # 23. The universes, then, are three in number: the universe created by one viewpoint, the universe created by every other viewpoint, the universe created by the mutual action of viewpoints which is agreed to be upheld—the physical universe.

A person’s viewpoint has its total awareness, which is his universe. He looks at others having total awareness from their viewpoint. That is the other person’s universe. Then there is the awareness that everyone agrees upon. Hubbard calls this the physical universe. These are the three universes as classified by Hubbard.

The physical universe is the universe perceived by the physical senses of the body. The non-physical universe is perceived by the mental sense of the person, which is supposedly individualistic. But when the physical and mental senses are integrated in that all anomalies (discontinuity, disharmony and inconsistency) in perception are resolved, a person achieves an objective viewpoint from which he sees things as they are. This is the “objective universe”.

Thus all “non-physical” universes, and the physical universe, converge to this objective universe as viewpoints integrate their mental and physical perceptions. This integration is achieved by resolving all anomalies in perception. No arbitrary agreement is then needed.

KHTK FACTOR # 23 (old): The universes “created” by all viewpoints and the agreed-upon “physical universe” converge to an objective universe, when all anomalies (discontinuity, disharmony and inconsistency) in perception are resolved.

.

FACTOR # 24. And the viewpoints are never seen. And the viewpoints consider more and more that the dimension points are valuable. And the viewpoints try to become the anchor points and forget that they can create more points and space and forms. Thus comes about scarcity. And the dimension points can perish and so the viewpoints assume that they, too, can perish.

The universal viewpoint lies in the clarity of perception of the universe. As the viewpoint narrows, the perception becomes unclear, and self-generated considerations (speculations, assumptions, beliefs and agreements) enter the picture. These considerations introduce subjectivity and the viewpoints start to become occluded.

The longing for clarity is always there. The speculations that seem to promise clarity, become valuable as beliefs and one starts to depend on them. One forgets that the actual clarity lies beyond speculations, assumption and beliefs. Thus, comes about fixations and one starts to think that letting go of such beliefs will also be the end of oneself.

KHTK FACTOR # 24 (old): The viewpoint is defined by its ability to perceive the dimension points. Absence of clarity leads to dependence on self-generated considerations. Letting go of such considerations may feel like the end of the viewpoint.

.

FACTOR # 25. Thus comes about death.

The viewpoint can never perish as long as there are dimension points to view. The dimension points may change their “form”, but they can never perish because the universe is always there (the law of conservation of energy).

The viewpoint, however, can get totally fixated on its self-generated considerations, such that it becomes completely unaware of the objective universe. All that it views is its own pre-determined considerations. The viewpoint may think that it is alive, but it has become completely subjective. It has forgotten how to evolve. It doesn’t even care for any clarity. This may be like death.

KHTK FACTOR # 25 (old): Complete introversion on “self-generated considerations” is equivalent to the death of viewpoint.

.

The Factors 16 – 20

Project: A Course on Hubbard’s Factors

The original Scientology Factors are a summation of the considerations and examinations of the human spirit and the material universe, which was completed between A.D. 1923 and 1953 by L. Ron Hubbard.

The KHTK Factors are a result of the subject clearing of Buddhism, Scientology and philosophy in general.

.

FACTOR # 16. The viewpoint can combine dimension points into forms and the forms can be simple or complex and can be at different distances from the viewpoints and so there can be combinations of form. And the forms are capable of motion and the viewpoints are capable of motion and so there can be motion of forms.

The dimension points are seen as they are, only from the universal viewpoint. Here the nature of dimension points and the universal viewpoint is synonymous, which makes the dimension points change, combine and evolve in a continuous, harmonious and consistent fashion. This may be described best as self-animation. This is the real motion.

But the viewpoints commonly encountered are less than universal. A subjective filter polarizes the dimension points and viewpoints making the dimension points appear external to viewpoints. The synonymity is lost and the changes, combinations and evolution are attempted through enforcement and control as there is mystery about their nature. There are misperceptions, misjudgments and departures from reality. This is unnatural motion.

We all have self-animation that we hardly ever think about, but that is the true motion. All other motion that we are trying to control is coming from the inability to have the universal viewpoint.

KHTK FACTOR # 16 (old): The dimension points through their innate impulses are capable of self-animation. They combine into simple and complex forms, and these forms combine further while retaining their self-animation. The viewpoints belong to the forms, but subjectivity makes them appear to be separate.

.

FACTOR # 17. And the opinion of the viewpoint regulates the consideration of the forms, their stillness or their motion, and these considerations consist of assignment of beauty or ugliness to the forms and these considerations alone are art.

The laws of nature, as expressed through self-animation, regulate the motion of dimension points and their forms. This self-animation is recognized through the objectivity of the universal viewpoint. The real art is the nature itself. Narrower viewpoints simply add their considerations to it. The added opinions belong to the subjectivity of narrower viewpoints.

According to Hubbard, each individual creates his own universe. That is true only in the subjective sense. These individual universes are subjective universes. One can change, manipulate and control one’s universe only to the degree one can change, manipulate and control one’s considerations.

KHTK FACTOR # 17 (old): The forms have evolved from minerals to plants to animals to humans and their activities. Therein lies the art. But human viewpoints add their colorful considerations of beauty and ugliness to it.

.

FACTOR # 18. It is the opinion of the viewpoints that some of these forms should endure. Thus there is survival.

From the human viewpoint, the forms that appear pleasing should endure; and others that are not so pleasing are let go. But from the universal viewpoint, there is simply evolution that is continuous, harmonious and consistent.

The human effort is to make life pleasing by getting rid of suffering. Prayer is the longing for freedom from suffering. Meditation is an effort to let go of existing conditioning. Art is the search for new viewpoints that go beyond the mundane human existence. Science uses a more systematic approach to expand the human viewpoint. Here we have the evolution of human thought.

KHTK FACTOR # 18 (old): The human viewpoint sees survival and suffering among these forms, and it endeavors to settle it through prayer, meditation, art, and science. Thus, there is evolution.

.

FACTOR # 19. And the viewpoint can never perish; but the form can perish.

Viewpoint require dimension points, and their forms, in order to exist. The dimension points and their forms change and so do the viewpoints. As long as there is a viewpoint, there has to be some dimension point and form. No viewpoint can exist without points to view.

The narrow viewpoints are looking through filters of self-generated considerations, altering the view of the dimension points. Each viewpoint has its own filters, which keeps them separate from other viewpoints. As these filters become more individualistic the viewpoints diverge further. But as these filters are removed, all viewpoints converge toward the universal viewpoint. The universal viewpoint is objective.

KHTK FACTOR # 19 (old): Neither the viewpoint, nor the dimension points and their forms, can completely perish. But they can change over a wide range.

.

FACTOR # 20. And the many viewpoints, interacting, become dependent upon one another’s forms and do not choose to distinguish completely the ownership of dimension points and so comes about a dependency upon the dimension points and upon the other viewpoints.

The viewpoints become dependent only upon their self-generated considerations through which they look at the dimension points. As the human viewpoints interact, they share their considerations (fixed ideas, beliefs and prejudices). This leads to agreements. These viewpoints then become bound by such agreements. This expresses itself as cultural conditioning.

A viewpoint has two choices: either to get rid of its conditioning, or to bring about similar conditioning in others. We see both of these phenomena occurring in religion, politics and cultural assimilation.

KHTK FACTOR # 20 (old): And many viewpoints, interacting, come to agree on their self-generated considerations (fixed ideas, beliefs and prejudices). And so, they become dependent on such agreements with other viewpoints.

.

The Factors 11 – 15

Project: A Course on Hubbard’s Factors

The original Scientology Factors are a summation of the considerations and examinations of the human spirit and the material universe, which was completed between A.D. 1923 and 1953 by L. Ron Hubbard.

.

FACTOR # 11. But there are other viewpoints and these viewpoints out-thrust points to view. And there comes about an interchange amongst viewpoints; but the interchange is never otherwise than in terms of exchanging dimension points.

Viewpoint is a natural aspect of existence. It is a frame of reference used to view. The human beingness is capable of assuming any viewpoint from very narrow to as broad as the universal viewpoint. From the universal viewpoint one sees things as they are; therefore, it is naturally shared.

As the universal viewpoint narrows from its natural state it no longer sees the dimension points as they are; instead it holds an opinion about them. Thus, many different viewpoints holding different opinions about the same thing come about. Thus, there is interchange of different views among the viewpoints. Some of these views, such as, “Earth is the center of the universe,” are shared by a community of people. Thus, come about agreements.

KHTK FACTOR # 11 (old): Multiplicity of viewpoints come about from a narrowing of the universal viewpoint when dimension points are not viewed as they are. Thus, there are opinions of dimension points, and they are interchanged among viewpoints.

.

FACTOR # 12. The dimension point can be moved by the viewpoint, for the viewpoint, in addition to creative ability and consideration, possesses volition and potential independence of action; and the viewpoint, viewing dimension points, can change in relation to its own or other dimension points or viewpoints. Thus comes about all the fundamentals there are to motion.

Motion exists naturally in existence as there is innate impulse in energy. That is how dimension points and viewpoints evolve in the first place. As dimension points move, and so do viewpoints, a complexity of motion comes about.

All such motions are related by the fundamental continuity, harmony and consistency that must be maintained in existence. This influences any creativity, volition and independence of action.

KHTK FACTOR # 12 (old): The fundamentals of motion come from the innate impulse of energy and the continuity, harmony and consistency of existence. These fundamentals generate relationships among the creativity, volition and independence of viewpoints with the complex motion of dimension points.

.

FACTOR # 13. The dimension points are each and every one, whether large or small, solid. And they are solid solely because the viewpoints say they are solid.

The universal viewpoint gives the glimpse of the universe truly for what it is. A departure from this viewpoint can occur in infinitely different ways. This produces infinity of narrower viewpoints, each having its own subjective view of the universe. Thus, we mostly see altered versions of the original dimension points.

The original dimension points form the whole spectrum of energy from thought to electromagnetism to matter. Each and every one of them are real, continuous, harmonious and consistent. But they may be viewed differently depending on the subjectivity of a viewpoint.

KHTK FACTOR # 13 (old): The dimension points, each and every one, are real, continuous, harmonious and consistent. But they may be viewed as the viewpoints consider them to be.

.

FACTOR # 14. Many dimension points combine into larger gases, fluids or solids. Thus there is matter. But the most valued point is admiration, and admiration is so strong its absence alone permits persistence.

Thought energy condenses into electromagnetic energy, which condenses into atom. The atoms and molecules condense into gaseous, liquid and solid forms of matter. In general, dimension points combine into more complex forms. The innate impulse of dimension points produces more complex consciousness of complex forms.

Admiration is appreciating these forms for what they are. In absence of admiration the altered perception persists.

KHTK FACTOR # 14 (old): The dimension points combine to generate more complex forms. Admiration is appreciating these forms for what they are. In absence of admiration the altered perception persists.

.

FACTOR # 15. The dimension point can be different from other dimension points and thus can possess an individual quality. And many dimension points can possess a similar quality, and others can possess a similar quality unto themselves. Thus comes about the quality of classes of matter.

The dimension points may be arranged in broad classes such as physical and metaphysical. They may be arranged into sub-classes within each class, and still further into more sub-sub-classes. With all these different classes in different dimensions, the dimension points may be arranged into an infinite matrix.

KHTK FACTOR # 15 (old): The dimension points have similar and different qualities. Thus, we have classes of energy and matter with their own quality.

.

The Factors 6 – 10

Project: A Course on Hubbard’s Factors

The original Scientology Factors are a summation of the considerations and examinations of the human spirit and the material universe, which was completed between A.D. 1923 and 1953 by L. Ron Hubbard.

The KHTK Factors are a result of the subject clearing of Buddhism, Scientology and philosophy in general.

.

FACTOR # 6. The action of a dimension point is reaching and withdrawing.

The dimension points come into view when attention is placed of them. They go out of view when attention moves away.

Also, many dimension points may disappear as the viewpoint narrows. A person with narrow viewpoint is simply unaware of many aspects of what is there. On the other hand, as a person’s viewpoint broadens he becomes aware of more dimension points, and he starts to get realizations.

KHTK FACTOR # 6 (old): Dimension points move in and out of awareness of the viewpoint.

.

FACTOR # 7. And from the viewpoint to the dimension points there are connection and interchange. Thus new dimension points are made. Thus there is communication.

As dimension points are viewed discontinuities, disharmonies and inconsistencies come to notice. As these anomalies are followed up new dimension points come to view. This broadens the viewpoint and it finds more things in common with other viewpoints. Thus, real communication comes about.

If the viewpoints are narrow and close themselves to new dimension points then some doubts, perplexities and confusions may never resolve no matter how much communication take place. The solution is for the viewpoints is to broaden themselves.

KHTK FACTOR # 7 (old): From viewpoint, the dimension points are viewed; and the follow up generates new dimension points. Thus, there is communication.

.

FACTOR # 8. And thus there is light.

Light is energy with innate impulse. It has a beingness and a viewpoint with which it interacts with other things. It absorbs information and carries with it. This information can be extracted later at far away distances. This provides perception. Thus, existence can be perceived for what it is.

KHTK FACTOR # 8 (old): And thus, there is perception.

.

FACTOR # 9. And thus there is energy.

Light is an expression of energy. Energy is the basic substance of the universe that carries innate impulses. It forms the dimension points and the viewpoint. It is the fabric of existence. All activity exists because of energy.

KHTK FACTOR # 9 (old): And thus, there is activity.

.

FACTOR # 10. And thus there is life.

Life is composed of communication, perception and activity. Life evolves from innate impulse of energy to animated matter, which further acquires the ability to react and think.

The ultimate stage of thought is enlightenment, which is the recognition of its own nature. The moment thought recognizes its own nature it is enlightened.

KHTK FACTOR # 10 (old): And thus, life evolves.

.
